Psychodynamic Therapy

What Is Psychodynamic Therapy?

This is sometimes called explorative therapy in that it enables the client to examine and explore unresolved conflicts and symptoms that come out of past difficult relationships and early childhood experiences. It is one of the oldest forms of therapy and originated from the theories of Freud, though it has evolved significantly over the last 60 years and has incorporated many other psychodynamic and psychoanalytic theories. It is often helpful for people who want to understand themselves better and who feel that they have become stuck in a way of being from early childhood years and that they would like to find a way to feel and behave differently.
