Person Centred Therapy

Person Centred therapy

This approach developed from the work of Carl Rogers and is a form of non-directive therapy where the client is considered the expert in their own selves and the work of the therapist is to accompany them in a way that will allow the client to reach their own innate potential. It emphasises being deeply empathic and accepting of the client. In many ways this is not so much a model of therapy but more a guiding principle of how to best work in the therapy session.
