Rowena Mattan is a Consultant Clinical Psychologist. She is licenced to practice both in the UK and in Israel where she originally trained. She is a member of the Division of Clinical Psychology of the British Psychological Society. She is HCPC registered so you can be assured that she is working to the highest of professional standards. She offers both therapy, and professional supervision and training.
She has had 20 years experience working as a Clinical Psychologist both in the public and private sector with adults and adolescents who struggle with depression; anxiety; stress; post- traumatic stress disorder; childhood traumas and complex enduring difficulties.
Her original training was in psychodynamic approaches but in the last 11 years she has also trained and worked with third wave cognitive behavioural (CBT) and mindfulness based cognitive therapy approaches. In addition she has trained in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing) and different models of group therapy. This means that she will tailor her way of working with the individual and offer an integrative approach so as to find the most effective way to help them in their therapy.
In addition to her individual therapy work, she also has substantial experience in working in group therapy and this is a further option that can be considered when thinking about what kind of therapy could be most helpful.
She is a recognised practitioner with BUPA, AXA and Aviva Insurance Companies.
